Thirty-One Party for Zoe

Thirty-One Consultant, Amanda Hamm, has so willing offered to do a findraiser for Zoe! She has a party that will be open until February 9, 2012 and will donate 10% to Zoe's Journey! How exciting!!! She has also donated items that will be in our auction.

All you have to do is go to www.mythirtyone.com/ahamm or call Amanda at 252-670-1150 to place your order after you have browsed her website. Please make sure you place it under Zoe's party so that she gets your credit.

February special is if you spend $31....any additional items are 31% off!! how awesome!!

One more thing from Amanda....

I am asking everyone if they would be willing to purchase one of these totes to donate to the NICU in Zoe's name. For each tote that is purchased, I will have it embroidered with the word LOVE. I will also be putting two water bottles and a journal in every tote. These will be taken to the NICU at Pitt Memorial Hospital so they can be given to mothers when their baby enters the NICU. These totes can help mothers store their milk so they can help their baby's growth or to store a snack so they can keep up their strength for their baby.

P
This tote cost $16 to donate but is for an amazing cause! For every tote donated not only will it be given in Zoe's name at Pitt Memorial NICU, but $1 goes to Zoe's Fund!!

Happy Shopping!!!!

UPDATE:   If you are wanting to purchase a insulated tote to donate to the NICU at Pitt Memorial, please call Amanda at  252-670-1150. If you order it online it will not get sent to the NICU. Thank you!!

Loving Embrace

Many of us who have had children know we deal with morning sickness, fatigue, joint pains, huge stomachs, stretch marks, Dr. appointments, ultrasounds, baby showers, tummy rubs (even from strangers), pain of labor, and much more only to give birth to a healthy baby to snuggle, kiss, love, and take home 24 hours later. Rebekah had some of those. She was robbed, in some ways, of some of the best moments....She didn't get her baby placed on her after birth, she didn't get to nurse her, she didn't get to hold and kiss her after her bath, Michael didn't get to hold his baby girl as a proud new papa. While this is awful, Zoe has shown ALL of us how someone so tiny can touch so many lives. Michael and Rebekah had handled all of this with such courage I don't think most of us have. Putting a smile on their faces is probably one of the hardest things to do right now, but they do. EVERYDAY! Zoe is showing them just how strong she is all the while teaching us all how to be strong too.

So, while most of us take for granted the tiny steps, like holding their newborn, Michael and Rebekah just look and touch her legs, hands, or head. But, that all changed Saturday night when Rebekah was told she could hold her daughter! At almost 3weeks old, Rebekah emotionally was handed her tiny sweet Zoe! What a moment! Then on Sunday, Zoe was so strong that they said Mom AND Dad get to hold her! Michael was so excited. As he settled in his chair anxiously waiting for his sweet baby girl he couldn't help but smile as he held his little girl for the first time. Rebekah stood there beaming watching "Daddy"! What a moment! I am so thankful that I was able to share that moment with them. Something I will never forget!

Start the Prayer Chain!

Rebekah just called me to let me know that Zoe is being taken off the Jet Ventilator today to see how she handles it. This is a very big step for her. Pray that Zoe is strong and her oxygen and blood gases show that they are strong!

As of last night....

Zoe had another transfusion last night, just to help her a little. The Dr's were not to worried about her blood production but with trying to ween the ventilator off a little they wanted her to have good flow to carry the oxygen. She did really well and is still holding strong at 2lb 2oz! Hard to believe 19 days ago she was only 1lb 12oz!! She is a fighter, that is for sure!

Thoughts from Daddy and Mommy last night.....

"I thought that there were certain things in life I would not make it thru, and then I gave birth to my beautiful little Zoe 15 weeks early. I found strength I didn't know was even possible when I look at my little girl and knew what a fight she was in for. I praise God for every day he gives to me with her, and for the blessing he has given to my family by giving this little miracle to us. I am so... grateful for the support of so many people out there and especially my family that has gather around us. I think that this crisis had to happen because it was Gods will and even though I try to fight him daily, in the end he touches my heart and lets me know he is in the driver seat! Keep the prayers coming because without them I don't know that I could keep going. Thank you all God bless and keep your families safe."
PS...She "found strength" she thought she didn't have but her family and friends already knew she had it! ♥ you baby sister!

Auction...

I know I said I was going to start the auction yesterday or today, but I just haven't gotten everything together for pictures yet. Please bear with me and I will try my hardest to get it up soon!
Thank you!!
Just to give a little better idea of how tiny Zoe really is....sometimes pictures can be deceiving....

This is next to my son's NewBorn diaper

This diaper still SWALLOWS her.
They call her MicroPreemie for a reason ♥

Prayers lifted, Answers given!

Rebekah and Michael had been staying at a hotel the last 2 weeks and as of Tuesday they had to be out of the hotel. After applying to get into the Ronald McDonald House they were told they didn't have any opening. So, off they went looking for a place to stay. They found an extended stay they could rent but with the convenience comes a HIGH cost. They were able to get a room but for only dollars short of $400 for a week! When we heard that many of us went into prayer begging our Lord to please help them out. Well, I am elated to say that around 4pm'ish today, Rebekah got a call saying that the Ronald McDonald House had an opening!! To top it off the extended stay was soo very kind that they only charged her a night at the week discount...even better!! Nobody can tell me that didn't have God's fingerprints ALL over it. HE is good!!

Auction

One of the reasons I started this blog was to fundraise. Michael and Rebekah have a lot of extra expenses with Zoe being in the hospital an hour and half away from their house. One way you can help is to donate funds or items. I will start an Auction here in the next day or so. Thank you to all of you that have donated their time and their talents. I have a goal of $5,000! I know we can do it, but I can't do it alone. Please spread the word and most importantly, PRAY! Thank you!!

If you have any questions at all, please message me or email me at emschrimsher@hotmail.com
Sweet Little Angel!

Zoe is doing good! She has sure shocked all the Dr's. We know that Zoe is strong and is fighting with all the might her tiny body has. ♥

Mommy is helping Zoe's nurse

This makes me cry.....As a mother, I can't imagine not being able to grab my babies and squeeze them tight. Rebekah is not only my sister, but my hero. She wears a brave face while with Zoe and other people, when I am sure she just wants to crumble. She is an amazing mother already!!

Daddy reading to his peach ♥

LOVE this! Zoe is one lucky girl....She has some amazing parents! Michael is such a protector, already, of his sweet peach fuzz. Go Daddy!

Back under the lights for her liver

Lots of love sent their way ♥

Growing strong!

As of last night Zoe weighed in at 2lbs! She is slowly growing so strong. So awesome! ♥ I can see her in 16yrs....taller than her mama, long brown hair with gorgeous blue eyes....She will be as beautiful on the inside as the outside that's for sure. She is our tiny miracle.

Edge of our Seat!

Last week ended with worries and joys! First the joys......Zoe's Dr.'s are ALL very impressed with how strong our tiny Zoe is! Her lungs, kidneys, liver, and other vital organs are all developing as they should for her condition. She still has a very very long road to get to full term but in time she will. Worries next......Being that Zoe is so premature she has a higher risk of little bleeds in her brain. Her brain did have some bleeding. Her Dr decided to wait a few days to rescan because Zoe needs as little stimulation as possible to gain her strength.

Now, some more JOYS....

On Sunday, Rebekah, was able to feed her baby for the very first time! Oh what a joyful moment. Even though it was through a feeding tube, it was mommy's milk! YAY!

Many prayers have been lifted and on Monday the rescan of Zoe's brain showed NO more bleeding!! PRAISE JESUS! It brought so much joy! The excitement continued on Facebook with a post from Mommy and Daddy.....

"Mommy and Daddy are so excited! They repeated the ultrasound on Zoe's head today and we just got the results back a little while ago. There is no more bleeding and the blood has not made it to the brain tissue, this is a very good sign. Her doctors seem confident that this means the bleeding has stopped. Unless there is any significant changes they will not repeat again for two weeks. We are are happy with this development. The doctor also commented on on strong Zoe is. ♥♥♥♥♥"

Keep up the prayers!! HE hears them ♥

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Alright, so I am going to be doing a lot of fundraising/auctions on here to help raise money to ease some of the extra financial expenses that will start adding up fast with Zoe being in the hospital. Michael and Rebekah will need to get their house in complete order before they can even think about bringing her home in a few months. So, keep an eye out and if anyone is willing to donate items to be auctioned off or even just want to donate money you can donate any amount you would like via Paypal. If you have any questions at all you can message, email, call, or text me. Please share this blog to anyone you know. The more prayers we have for Zoe the better.

You can also check her out on Facebook.... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Zoes-Page/203825843044151?sk=photos#!/pages/Zoes-Page/203825843044151?sk=wall

As a proud new Aunt to precious tiny Zoe Alexandra, I decided to start a Blog and help raise funds to help out my sister and her husband with extra expenses with Zoe being in the hospital. I have never done a blog before so bear with me while I learn the ropes.

Most of you already know about Zoe, but for those of you who don't I will fill you in :-)

My beautiful sister, Rebekah and her husband were excited when they found out they were going to have a baby back in August of 2011. I have never met anyone more excited that her! She knew immediately what names she would use and the theme the nursery would be. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until New Years Morning when she thought she might be in labor. Her husband rushed her to the hospital where I met them only to be told that she was in active labor. This was very scary for all of us because Rebekah was only 24weeks pregnant. This means she was about 4 months early. After many tries, the doctors couldn't.t stop her labor.
At 8:22pm, the world became a better place. Zoe Alexandra Piatt was born. At a tiny 1lb 12oz 13.5". The transport team was there from Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC to rush her to an amazing NICU. A heartbreaking night for a brand new mommy and daddy. Daddy had to make a decision to leave his wife to follow his baby over an hour away. Mommy had to settle down for the night all alone.

Zoe has had a few downs and many many ups! The God I worship CAN fix anything! I will keep everyone up to date as much as I can!
